Affiliate page and payouts

The affiliate program pays you a share of what the people you bring to Refervia pay for their own plan. Joining is free, on any plan, and separate from your plan. It's only ever a share of Refervia subscriptions: you never earn anything on a client, a handoff or a referral fee.

Become an affiliate

You need a Refervia account in good standing, to be at least 18 and to live in the United States.

1. On your Overview, click Become an Affiliate on the Your referral link card. It's also on the Your branded referral link card in Settings.
2. Read the Affiliate Program Terms. They're also on the Affiliate Program page.
3. Tick the box to agree, then click Join the affiliate program.
4. You'll see "You're an affiliate. Your link is ready." Affiliate now shows in your left menu.

Share your affiliate link

1. Click Affiliate in the left menu. On a phone, click Your Affiliate page on the Your referral link card on your Overview.
2. Under Your affiliate link, click Copy. It looks like refervia.com/?via=your-code.
3. Every time you share it, say you earn a commission, for example "I earn a commission if you subscribe." The FTC requires it, and it's in the terms.

Anyone who opens your link and signs up within 90 days is credited to you. Trusted Partners you invite by email are credited to you too, no link needed, and so is anyone who signs up from your branded referral link.

What you earn

You earn 25% of what they pay Refervia for their first 12 months, counted from their first paid invoice. Your rate goes up to 30% from your 100th paid account and 35% from your 200th. A new rate applies to payments after you reach it, not to earlier ones.

"What they pay" means what they're charged for their plan, after discounts and before tax. Your Affiliate page and the Affiliate Program page always show the program's current rates.

Each commission clears 30 days after the payment. Cleared earnings are paid once a month when they reach $25, through Stripe. Smaller amounts carry over to the next month.

Your Affiliate page

• From invite to earnings: Invited (the Trusted Partners you invited by email), Joined (everyone credited to you, from invites and links) and Paying (paid at least one invoice), with what you've earned.
• Joined from you: the latest 10 people, how they came in (Partner invite, Affiliate link or Referral link), and Paying or Free so far.
• Commissions: the latest 12, each with its rate and the payment, and whether it Clears on a date, is Cleared or was Paid out.
• Earnings: Waiting to clear, Cleared, paid next payout and Paid out.
• Your rate: your rate now, and how many paid accounts until the next step.

Set up payouts

Payouts go through Stripe Connect, Refervia's payments provider. You set it up once.

1. On your Affiliate page, find Payouts and click Set up payouts. On a phone or tablet, a Set up your payouts prompt also opens until it's done.
2. Stripe's form opens. It asks for your identity and tax details once, and the bank account to pay.
3. When you finish, you come back to your Affiliate page. Stripe usually checks your details in a few minutes, and the card shows it when it's done.
4. From then on, cleared earnings are paid to your bank account once a month. Refervia pays the payout fees, so you keep your full commission.

To change your bank account, see past payouts or get your tax forms, click Open payout details. It opens your Stripe Express Dashboard.

Good to know

• If more than one member reached the same person, the earliest invite or link wins. Credit is set when their account is created and doesn't change.
• Accounts that already existed can't be credited to you, and neither can your own.
• If a payment is refunded or charged back, the matching commission comes off, from earnings that haven't been paid yet or from your next payout.
• You're paid as an independent contractor and handle your own taxes. The program terms explain the tax forms.
• To leave the program, ask Refervia Support. You're paid cleared earnings that meet the payout minimum.

Trouble?

• "I don't see Affiliate in my menu": You haven't joined yet. Click Become an Affiliate on the Your referral link card on your Overview. On a phone, the Affiliate page isn't in the bottom bar: click Your Affiliate page on that card.
• "The affiliate terms were updated. Please read them again.": Read the new version, tick the box again and click Join the affiliate program.
• Someone signed up but isn't counted under Joined: They already had a Refervia account, signed up more than 90 days after opening your link, or someone else's invite or link reached them first.
• "Your payout setup isn't finished": Click Finish payout setup to pick up where you left off.
• "Couldn't open payout setup. Please try again.": Try again. If it keeps failing, open a support ticket with the Billing & payments category.
• "Your affiliate account is paused": New commissions aren't being added. Contact Refervia Support.
