Partner agreement

When you connect with a trusted partner, your Refervia Partner Agreement starts on its own. You each sign it once, with one checkbox, and it covers every client you refer to each other. No fees, every plan.

A partner agreement is a short, standing agreement you and a connected trusted partner both sign once, when you connect, so you can count on each other. It covers every client you refer to each other through Refervia, not one referral at a time, and it has no fees.

It starts on its own the moment you connect, on every plan. You're connected either way; signing it is what lets you send each other your own documents to sign (see Send your own documents to sign).

What it says

  • The client's OK comes first. The client agrees to be referred and to be contacted before either of you shares their details, in writing when the law or your license rules require it.
  • Fast first contact. Each of you contacts a client within 24 hours of receiving the referral, never later than 48. If you can't help, you decline it in Refervia right away so it can go to someone else.
  • Client information stays private. Used only to help that client, kept secure, never sold or shared without the client's OK.
  • You keep each other updated in Refervia (Contacted, In Progress, Completed or Declined).
  • You each follow your own license rules, including any rules on referral fees.
  • No fees. The agreement has no referral fees, commissions or payment terms. Any fee or payment between you is your own separate arrangement, handled through your own broker, agency or company the way you do it today. Refervia never takes, calculates or handles referral fees.
  • It lasts as long as you're trusted partners. If either of you removes the other as a trusted partner, it ends for both of you right away.

Refervia provides the agreement and keeps the signed copy for both of you. Refervia isn't a party to it, and it isn't legal advice.

Sign it

When you connect with a partner, you both get a notification, the agreement shows on Documents under Waiting for your signature (click Sign), and their card on Trusted Partners says Sign your partner agreement to send each other documents.

On a computer, you sign right beside the agreement, on its right. On a wide screen, where it stands (who has signed, and when) shows on its left.

  1. Read it. Sign here, on its signature line, takes you to the box on the right.
  2. Tick the box. Your first and last name from your profile appears in cursive as your signature. Never your company's name.
  3. Click Sign the agreement. The right side tells you it's signed and what happens next.

On a phone or tablet, signing opens in its own window, full screen on a phone.

  1. Click Review and sign, at the top of the agreement. On a phone it also stays at the top of the screen while you scroll.
  2. Read it, then click Continue to sign.
  3. Tick the box (your first and last name appears in cursive as your signature) and click Sign the agreement. The window tells you it's signed and what happens next.

You can sign first or second. When the first of you signs, the other gets an email and a notification asking them to sign too. Once you've both signed, it's in place for both of you, and you're told by email and in the app.

The email's Read and sign opens it ready to sign. If you're signed out, sign in and it opens right after. If the page says the agreement is for another account, the email went to a different Refervia account than the one signed in on that device: click Sign out and switch accounts, sign in with the account the email went to, and it opens.

Until your partner signs, you can Withdraw my signature. If you'd rather not sign, click Decline; they can start a new one after a week.

Partner agreements are only for connected partners, since both of you sign in Refervia. They're free on every plan.

Open the agreement from Documents or the partner's card and click Print or save as PDF: it prints the signed agreement with both signatures and the time each of you signed.

There's nothing to end by hand. The agreement lasts as long as you're trusted partners on Refervia, and ends on its own, for both of you, if either of you removes the other. If you connect again later, a new one starts on its own.

Your own documents

Once the partner agreement is in place, you and your partner can send each other your own documents, like your brokerage's referral agreement, and sign them in Refervia. On a computer, Your documents with your partner and Send a document to sign sit on the right, under the agreement's card; on a phone, under the agreement. Any fees or payments in them are between the two of you. See Send your own documents to sign.
